Banner was laid to rest in the pool garden on Tuesday 28 June 2005. And because he hated to be alone, Injah's ashes were buried along with him. He is now with all his former companions and housemates, whom he missed terribly - Fred, Classic, Noah, Sass & Freda.
Banner had his enlarged spleen removed after an ultrasound revealed a tumour. Although it appeared to have been a successful operation, biopsy confirmed that Hemangiosarcoma was present. Whilst Banner was valiant as ever, his condition and mobility deteriorated as his lymph nodes swelled. Our thanks to Dr Rob Zammit, the team at Vineyard Veterinary Hospital and Chiropractor Gary Barnsley who did everything they could to make his last weeks comfortable.
He was one of a kind. The 'top dog' who never had to growl to maintain that position. The 'big sook' that loved puppies, whether they were his or not. The 'clown' that loved to play with his toys when he thought no-one was watching. The 'braveheart' that made mincemeat out of snakes. But most of all he was an allround 'good guy'.
